How to place a full post on the home page?

This is another thread on how to get a full post with formatting to appear on the Church theme home page. What I want to do is place a post on the home page that appears between the Featured Products image viewer and the homepagebottom div. I have tried a number of solutions, but the main problem seems to be that no matter how I format the text to place on the home page, for some reason the formatting appears to be blocked from applying to the text. In other words, I hard code my article with all .html and style formatting in place, but when I point the browser to my site, the text appears but without any formatting. The end result is that the text appears as solid block.

I have also tried other solutions. By doing a little cutting and pasting, I've been able to publish full posts to the home page, but again, the posts appear without any formatting.

I would deeply appreciate any advice and thoughts on how to resolve this that anyone might have to offer.
