This may be covered already but I can't find any good info. I have a large site, over 400 separate HTML pages, that's currently coded in Dreamweaver. I want to transition the site to Wordpress with a custom theme, but it will take quite a bit of time to develop the new site. I have no idea how I can set up a development directory to work on the Wordpress theme, add widgets, etc. and then easily make the Wordpress files the "live" files. Can anyone point me to information on how to do this?
