Default Advertisement Link Showing On Header and Pages

After struggling for the last couple days and researching the forum, I have decided to ask for help.
Two of the problems is that in IE the header shows a box with a red X in the upper left hand corner, however in Firefox it doesn't.
The other problem is that some of my pages show the word "Advertisement" in red in Firefox, but in IE it shows as a box with a red X in it.
The website is not active as it is still a work in progress, but I can activate it if necessary.
I do appreciate this forum as some forum makes a beginner like me feel intimidated.
Thanks to all who participate.
Love the Themes by the way.
Thanks again. Dave
P.S. I tried to attach a screen shot of header and page and also header.php but it didn't go through.
