Step-by-Step Tabber instructions

I'm just about at my wit's end in wrestling with the tabber. Are there any detailed, step-by-step instructions to get it to work as intended? I'm not looking to do anything custom, I simply want to get it to work as it was intended. I have searched the support forums and while I've found some partial instructions, nothing I have found has much detail. :(
