Created Categories Subnav - issues with alignment

As per the instructions from here:

I created a categories subnav bar, however, I'm having trouble with the alignment - I'd like it to appear directly below the main menu nav bar, and can't seem to get it to go there, no matter where I put the code in the header.php. :?

Any suggestions?
