Replace Entire Sidebar With Image ???

I want to use the full side bar on the right to put in an image. Strange request, but its going to show a preview of what is to come in this area in the near future. Please see image attached.

How can I do this? I see a right and left sidebar .php
I am not sure where the "recent posts" is at in the code.
I assume I will need to get rid of all of this. Wondering if it is going to cause the whole layout to have a meltdown :) ...

Where will I put the image code? In which .php ?
