"Fatal error: Maximum execution time" w/ menus in Backcountry Theme

I'd appreciate any troubleshooting help since I'm fairly new to WordPress.

I have a new website at http://luxurytravelmavens.com

I'm running WordPress 3.4.1, Genesis 1.8.2, and Backcountry theme 1.0.1.

I am trying to set up my navigation menu across the top of the page and as I try to add new sub-categories, I'm getting this error:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/andrearh/public_html/luxurytravelmavens.com/wp-includes/nav-menu.php on line 604

The line number changes each time.

My host is Hostgator and I'm on a shared Linux server and they won't increase the timeout limit in the php file. They say I have to move to a VPS or dedicated server in order to have that type of control.

However, I think the problem is somewhere in Genesis or the theme.
