featured content gallery on new page- specify category id

I have a new page template and have the featured content working same as the home page. However I want to specify a category and not use what is setup in the admin panel for FCG categories.

How do I specify category_ID 277? I copied the page gallery.php to newgallery.php

using theme 3.0 with wordpress 2.7

Any help appreciate,
