Default Blog on Revolution Magazine

I'm back - I know you've got a system for posting a blog on my magazine, worked out thats simple - if I can just understand it -

my magazine site - GirlPoweredPlanet.com

The blog template is set to category #1 - so when I create a blog "page" the entries from category 1 show up in it blog style - this is fine - I can change the category number if I want to -

BUT - what happens is that I also get the category appearing in the "posts" menu on the second (lower) nav bar.

1. can I prevent the category from showing up on the lower nav bar and duplicating the post on the top nav bar?

2. can I save the posts in a way that they appear on the blog page but nowhere else?

Thanks

Saphir
