Default Schema AggregateRating coding question

I'm using the LifeStyle theme and would like to add ratings on each of my post pages. The ratings would need to follow the Schema AggregateRating criteria. By following the Schema.org rules, the ratings can show up in search engine listings. Ideally I'd like to add the code directly rather than use a plugin. However, I'm open to either.

Does anyone have any experience with either a plugin or code? I appreciate any information to help.
