Default WordPress/Genesis Security

All the WordPress sites hosted on one of my servers were hacked into while on vacation. My hosting company said "hacker posted vulnerable code to the file loop.php under the wordpress default theme directory twentyten." Since then I've removed all old themes and am only sticking with StudioPress Themes.

My question..what vulnerabilities (if any) are there when using WP with Genesis and Child Themes and what do you recommend to make my sites secure from future hackers?

Are using Genesis themes sufficient protection?

Thanks
