I'm curious to get the opinion of those who work with Wordpress much more frequently than I do.
I recently read a blog article that stated Wordpress' 1-click install process shouldn't be used because the .htaccess and robot.txt files that are created leave sensitive files/folders open to search engines and hackers. Also, it uses a default database table prefix, rather than a custom one. The blogger highly advocated performing manual installations of Wordpress rather than relying on the 1-click method. Is this really something to be THAT worried about? Or is it more hot air than anything else? |
