a couple questions for using custom post types and templates

Hello,

I've successfully made some custom metaboxes using bill ericksons method, but ran into a little issue regarding output. After I set up my field, I went ahead and started making a new template.php. But when I started, I realized that custom_post_types don't support custom templates?

How would I go about making a custom page to display my data, since it's a post_type and not a page? I'm a little unsure about this step.
