Embeded Audio

I am using the lifestyle theme for a band, I am slowly updating certain parts of the theme to customize as we would like however I am perplexed as how to embed audio files (mp3 or flv) into the home page. I wanted to use an audio widget in the side bar, but from my research this is not possible. I tried using the text widget to embed the mp3 files in the side bar, but I cannot get anything to align correctly, and or they show up as movies like a video. I am seeking just a simple audio interface to play sound clips of our songs. I know how to put mp3 clips in a post, but they do not show up on the home page when you log in to the site, does anyone know how I could make a mini player to play sound clips in rotation, or how to put in a mini audio player which the user can choose to play songs.
