Quick run down of publishing articles on twitter

Hi guys,

Ive gone dumb and need somebody to explain to me how it all works again.

I have my website connected to twitter so that when an article is published it automatically publishes a tweet with a link to that article. Ive had this set up for over a year but was asked by a friend..."How do you do that?"

It then struck me that I have completely forgotten how it all works. I know we can show tweets on the website using genesis latest tweets but how is twitter connecting with my site to pull any posts I make and then tweet them???
