New User Looking for help

Before anyone yells at me, I did use the search function and have been reviewing all the tutorials. I am just trying to find out if there is a single piece of documentation that walks through the process of customizing the theme? Perhaps a "Getting Started" guide or something along those lines.

I purchased the Magazine theme and am really struggling getting some of the layout options to work.

Any information or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
