Parenting custom post types

Back again!

I have a question about page parenting, specifically as it refers to current-menu-item highlighting.

Is it possible to have a navigation menu, where all pages of a custom post type highlight a specific menu item? Currently, I have one post linked to a specific menu item but require all subsequent posts still have the same menu item highlighted.
