Where Do I go for Custom Theme Help?

Hi.

This is my first post. I only started using Genesis just yesterday. Genesis? In a word? Awesome.

However, I know just enough code to be incompetent. That's why I wanted to start with something excellent. But I can't help it. I have to get under the hood and did around. Always, I'm asking, "What does this gizmo do? What would happen if I ripped it out? Do I really need it?

So I was attracted to the idea of a framework and a child theme I could mess around with to my heart's content. But I don't see any posts by guys like me. It's this theme or that theme, not MY custom theme. How and where do I even ask questions about problems I am having developing my own child theme? Am I even in the right place for that?

And BTW, I read a whole lot of tutorials before posting here. I'm irritated by people asking dumb questions as much as anyone, but I don't think this is a dumb question. Where's the theme developers forum?
