Shortening posts on front page

Shortening posts on front page

I figure there is a pretty easy setting for shortening front page blog posts (I am using copyblogger theme), but I have searched the forums and the different tabs and can't find the setting. What I would like to do is create a new blog post but concatinate it so that only a dozen lines appear on the front page and there is a link to (read more).

I was also wondering if it is possible to set this up so that it does it on all posts on the front page except the most recent.
