Question Other beginners tips? Confused by lots of the terminology

So I've skimmed the PDF and a few tutorials along with the forum. I have basic HTML skills and Wordpress.com template exerience. I've even designed a few HTML websites using basic templates before Wordpress really took off. So I'm surprised how "in over my head" I feel. Especially with figuring out which plugins to use and trouble shooting little things on the homepage. Any other good resources for someone who is not a developer? I don't have tons of time to spend reading up on stuff so easy to find easy to skim yet doesn't assume I'm well versed in this either :) I'm asking for the impossible I'm sure but seems worth a shot. The site I'm learning on is balanceandharmonybc.com in case that's helpful.

For example I don't know if I want my URL to be www in Wordpress or not. Figuring out which and how many plugins I need. Do I want breadcrumbs. Did i install my fb like box code correctly? Why is the page breaking in ie? Etc. not asking these now just looking for somewhere that breaks it down simply.

Thanks
