Possible to have widgets in place of posts on homepage?

Default Possible to have widgets in place of posts on homepage?
I would like to use text widgets in place of the Homepage Middle Post, Homepage Bottom left post, Homepage Bottom Right Post but have no clue where to begin. Is this possible if so what do I need to change? Thank you.
