Recent Photos thumbnails on the Homepage

Recent Photos thumbnails on the Homepage

Hi,

I am considering using the Album Theme for one of my new projects. But i have a doubt about the thumbnails that show up on the home page (and all other pages) in the Recent photos category.

Are these read thumbnails or just resized versions of the full-size picture. Because they open-up very slowly on the home page. Giving an impression that they are full-sized pictures dimentioned as thumbs.

Can anyone confirm this.
Can anyone suggest a way of making these reals-thumbnails (linked to respective posts)
