Sidebar widgets

Hi there,

I am having trouble with the side bar. I want the ENEWS & UPDATES box to stay put but I want the rest of the boxes to be as they are in my widgets panel? At the moment I have events and classified's widget activiated, but blogroll, recent , archive and categories are also being shown. How do I stop these being shown and only the ones i activate in the widget panel?
