Video to show on homepage then move to sidebar

How do I make a video that is static on the home page (not as a sidebar but as a featured video), then if someone clicks a blog post, that same featured video them moves over the the sidebar while they are reading the post? Obviously I am wanting them to click the video, but if they go straight to a post, I want the video to move to the sidebar in hopes that they click it from there..
