How to add video as thumbnail on homepage category

Hello,

Can someone help me regarding trying to add a video to my post that will also show up as the thumbnail on the homepage? I tried adding it in the custom field, with a name of video (guessed) and pasted youtube's embedded URL to the value, but this did not work.

Any advice?
