Hi guys--
I searched the forum before posting and didn't see an answer so I'm hoping someone can help. I absolutely love my site's new layout using the Church theme, but I did not expect it to be such a GPU killer. I am hosted through Media Temple and use their 1000 GPUs a month plan. My old layout very rarely exceeded the GPU usage. The only time we'd go over is when we'd have a hot story that would see 15-20,000 hits a day, and even then we weren't over by much. When we implemented the Church theme last month, immediately we saw problems with the GPU usage. The end of the billing cycle came and we were over by 1618 GPUs! We're only 3 days into the new cycle and have already used 266 GPUs of our allotted 1000. Needless to say if we don't get this in check fast, we'll either go completely broke paying overages or have to switch back to our old, undesirable layout. We've identified a couple of problems like the feed and comments links at the top of the page being called but we do not use them, but it seems the layout overall uses entirely too many GPUs. Does anyone know a way to help ease some of the usage from this layout? Is there a plugin or trick to optimize it better? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is the link to the site: http://neonlimelight.com Thanks! |
