Adding Sections To the Homepage

Just uploaded the current version of News v1.0

Followed the instructions here

for adding additional sections to the home page

Despite modifying the Category number and Post number in this code

<?php $recent = new WP_Query("cat=1&showposts=1"); while($recent->have_posts()) : $recent->the_post();?>

as you can see from my site I'm getting a mixed bag. The title is dependent on what I chose in the Theme Options for Top Left and Top Right, which doesn't help when I'm trying to add 2-4 other sections with different Categories

That's despite using four different category numbers in the Editor

There is also a float issue it appears, with the Top Right sections raised by some number of pixels
