Downloaded a theme...now what?

I downloaded the Streamline theme today and am new to blogging. How do I get the theme onto a existing blog...the blog is a wordpress blog through 1&1 Blog. I have tried uploading a few of the files, the sidebar, etc...but nothing happens. Is there a post on how to change the theme? Or a post that gives basic instructions on what to do first?
