Default Optimising Video

Does anyone have any experience with optimising video

I am recording various Camtasia videos, and am running into problems when I load them up online as they are wild slow at downloading, when you try to view them

With Camtasia I have various format choices when producing the video in a shareable format.

avi
swf
wmv
mov

the only one I have not tried is mov

The best I have got so far is using wmv with lower file sizes than the swf

I used to do video with a software called webmaster media maker and I found it brilliant. What I did was record a video with my camcorder. Then I changed the file to an flv file, the software generated the code and player and I uploaded them to the web server, you could set it to start to stream from say 3 seconds, and away it went, no pauses, loaded quickly, no hassles

I can do a wmv camtasia file for only about 1.5 minutes and it will be ok, anything bigger is terrible

swf is just terrible

a few examples below

please bear in mind these are not finished video, rather just playing around with various formats to see if I can find out what is wrong?

Are you able to offer any suggestions as to what would help me?

Can you point me to any software that might perhaps be good for compressing swf files, maybe that web media master software compresses the files and that is what would solve my problem

I had thought my problem lay with file size and bitrate

My thinking is if I knew how to optimise in those two areas, I would find a solution, but I could well be wrong?

Comments Appreciated?

Kindest

Gordon
