White text on black background?

Hi,

I really like the white text on the black background that is used to head up bits on the right hand side (like Recent Posts). I'm keen to try and adapt h1 so it's like that - ie white text on a black background that stretches across the width of the page. Does anybody have any experience or code they've used for doing that?
