Changing Colors for Widget Headers & Top Border with Date

I have found almost all my answers for changing out the colors for the theme and need help with

- how to remove the 480 x 60 purple box so it's just the background color I select for the header
- change the color of the border that has the date / news feed, etc.
- change the color of the border for the widgets
