Changing Header Background to Image

I saw this on Queensryche.com. They changed the charcoal gray header background behind the Streamline logo and the ad banner to an image. I'm new to wordpress theme editing and don't know how to do this. But I'm a designer and know basic coding, photoshop and dreamweaver. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
