How Do I Make Home Page Top Left Post Excerpts Appear

Love the theme! I have been working on it for 6 hours and it looks better than it has after years of tinkering!

For my "Home Page Top Left & Right" posts, how do I make my customized excerpts appear rather than the first X words of my post. Thanks!
