Shopping Cart Plugins?

Hi, long time reader, first time poster. I am building a new site currently at: http://giftseclectic.com.whsites.net (Lifestyle 4.0 theme) that will require a shopping cart. I am concerned about WP-ecommerce and am wondering if it is the best alternative. I have it working with some success here: http://theneurotechnologies.com (corporate 2.0 theme).

I see a lot of unresolved issues on the Instincts forums including incompatibility with Featured Content, but can't seem to find any posts about it here. I realize the question maybe inappropriate given that this site is for Studiopress Themes, but if anyone can point in the the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. Is it worth pursuing WP-ecommerce? Is there something different I should look at? Is there a source / documentation that I am missing that is available out there for doing ecommerce with Wordpress and specifically Studiopress themes.
