Help! Need to remove header banner

I'm a newbie with themes...someone else did the LifeStyle theme setup and customization for me. I've now purchased the News theme and I am still getting stuff ready before I implement the News theme.

I temporarily activated the News theme. When I switched back to LifeStyle, I now have a blank (orange) header banner.
