Featured Content Gallery Not Loading

I installed Lifestyle 4.0 and the latest version of Featured Content Gallery today. I have watched all the videos and quadruple checked all settings. Unlike other peoples' problems, I'm not even getting a black box with loading bar. I get nothing. Firebug seems to show some content loading, but I do not get all the scripts. I have deactivated all plugins to check for a conflict and no help. I cannot figure out why I'm not getting anything to show besides a small bordered box. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
