Unable to save the options

Unable to save the options

Hello,
After I fill out all details required in the news theme options page like thumbnail size, categories in tabber, left and right etc, and when I click on save settings, the options aren't being saved. Instead every box is turning blank.
I tried changing file perms of tools folder (and also recursed it into every file in that folder) but that doesn't help.
I'm still on a different theme and tried this using the theme test drive plugin (but that should be a problem as I am able to save the options for other testing themes).
Am I missing something here?
