Please Help, Allure, thumb custom field

Hello, I have been stumbling on an issue using the thumb custom field where it shows a thumbnail on the homepage area. It has been very inconsistent as it works and sometimes does not. To a point that i've re-edited the image and removed and re-added the custom field thumb and it works.

shows up as a broken link. this happens every now and then, after doing the same process multiple times it seems to work.
All my images are hosted on the same server just a different location away from the blog.
permissions are all 777 on images.
most of the time i resize the image 150x113 just so that i dont use up too much space, my theme options are set to 75x75 on the thumbs.

Please advice on anything i may need to look into. This works, but i am trying to figure out why it doesn't sometimes. my assumption is the image or possible formatting? all images are jpgs. Only thing that worked is resizing the image back and forth and just re-adding things.
