Sidebar Newsletter area

The feedburner subscription on the right within the sidebar, I am wanting to replace the form with my own so people can send requests to subscribe to my emailers.

Everytime I delete the feedburner form and insert my own, a lareg gap appears above the form, making the "Newsletter" area much taller. What is doing this? I've changed and tried alsorts of css tweaks.

This is driving me insane, please help before i lose more hair!
