swapping out themes?

Hello.

I'm going to switch from the Lifestyle theme to the Metro theme and would appreciate some guidance. Do I just put the Metro folder into the themes section on my ftp site? Do I have to throw out the Lifestyle theme first and, if I do, will that delete the info I have on the site at the moment? Is there some "switch" I need to flip in order to have the Metro theme automatically applied to my site (www.centralcoastfoodie.com)?
