Hello,
So far, I've found Lifestyle to be an excellent theme. Very intuitive to work with. What I'm trying to figure out on the homepage is how to prevent the same post from appearing in both the Featured Content Gallery and in one of the columns beneath it. From what I can tell from WP documentation, if a post has several categories associated with it, it will go with the oldest/lowest numbered category first. I work on a food site with "recipes" as cat_ID=2 and "writings" as cat_ID=7. Now the category associated with the Featured Content Gallery is called "devour" and has a cat_ID=23. I have it set up so that the left column beneath the gallery is "recipes" and the right is "writings." My problem is if I have post a piece and check off the categories of "writings" and "devour" (because I wanted it featured in the gallery temporarily but permanently in the writings category), it appears in the gallery as well as in the top position in the right column, because the cat_ID for "writings" takes precedence over that for "devour." My link structure doesn't help, I'm sure: "/%post_id%/%category%-%postname%.html" Right now my live site uses Arthemia, and it has a post duplication prevention setting for the homepage. Is there any way to prevent the duplication of posts, either via a setting I'm missing or in adding a piece of code to my homepage? Thanks, DT |
