How do I change the Category Nav Bar to a 2nd Nav Bar

I am designing a website and need more room for the navigation bar. I was considering using the category bar as a second nav bar. Can this be done? If so how?

The other alternative would be to eliminate the nav and category bar and have a sidebar with the page link there. Is that a possibility?
