Thumbs down Self-training program?

A "first-time" appearance!

I must confess, first of all, that I am a 'Newbie', Green-as-a-Gourd, as they say.

I have purchased my StudioPress Theme (Lifestyle) and am pretty sure I have it properly installed, including the Featured Content Gallery.

The task now in front of me is to become proficient in how to use the Theme to build a wonderful website.

I became overwhelmed and daunted when I got on the Support Forum, General Discussion, to discover 52 pages for a total of 3,158 threads.

Turning my attention from the General Discussion to the Tutorials, I discovered a total of 46, below, that relate to my situation:

1. All-theme: Start (6)
2. All-theme: Basic How-To (8)
3. All-theme: Advanced How-To (4)
4. All-theme: Problem-Solving (6)
5. FAQ's: (9)
6. Lifestyle Theme (13)

In a leap-of-faith, I am going to reason that anything that has come up on any of the other Forums of a crucial, fundamental nature has been incorporated somewhere into the Tutorials by Brian, Craig, or a Moderator -- Yes?, No?

Specifically, I'm asking if I confine my attention to those 46 Tutorials for the short- and medium-term, will I gain enough mastery to build a first-class website.

Then, later on, as time permits, I would begin to work my way through those 3,158 threads in the General Discussion. Make sense?

If anyone can relate any wisdom from their own experience of "getting up to speed", I sure would appreciate the counsel.
