permalinks causing major IE error?

Trying to help a client out with a site - I didn't do the install, just some work like replacing the header with an image map for him, etc.
Anyway, here's the presenting issue that led him to ask for my help: when he posts, the permalink/tip class returns this error in IE, all versions:


url: http://stoptheworldiwannagetoff.com

I've left the error in place for today to try to debug it, but I have to take the tip class off Monday for him so his site is functional again. Like I said, I've not changed any source code other than header height/adding an image map, but this error was in place from when the theme was installed.
