Default How to Display Auto-Thumbnail Images on the Homepage

One of the prominent features of the AgentPress homepage is the ability to display auto-thumbnail images. These are essential for showcasing your properties and to help make your blog posts more appealing.

Below is a screenshot that shows auto-thumbnails for the Featured Properties:

Step #1
Go to Posts > Add New and click on the Add an Image button just above the post editor. Here’s a screenshot to show where that button is:

Step #2
By default, WordPress displays the Add media files (or image in this case) with the From Computer tab active. Browse through your computer to find the image that you want to use for the thumbnail image on the homepage. After selecting the image, you’ll see that WordPress “crunches” the image and uploads it to your server. Here’s a screenshot of what that looks like:

Step #3
Click “Save all changes” and then you can continue writing your post. If you want to include that photo in your post, you can also click the “Insert into post” button that is shown on the screenshot above.

Special Note
The AgentPress theme is coded to automatically pull the first image in that array of uploaded images for each post. Note that if you upload multiple photos in a post, the array of them can be re-ordered.

Troubleshooting
1. Make sure you are using an image that is hosted on the domain that your site is using. The TimThumb script doesn’t work if you are trying to use images that are hosted from another site. In other words, your image must reside on the server that you are using. If your site is http://www.yourdomain.com, then your image must start with http://www.yourdomain.com...

2. Make sure the tools/cache directory on your server is writable. The permission should be set to 777.
