How to order categories in sub nav bar?

Hi there,
I would like to be able to choose the listing order of the categories in the sub nav bar. I see where the code for this is in header.php:
<div id="subnavbar">
<ul id="subnav">
<?php wp_list_categories('orderby=name&title_li=&depth=4 '); ?>
</ul>
</div>

I just don't know what to change it to and the nhow to choose the order. I don't want to use the plug in everyone has suggested because I only want to change the order in the nav bar, not in the side bar.

Suggestions?
