Wordpress Eventa Calendar successfully installed, but does not show up on home page

Last week I successfully installed the Wordpress Event Calendar. All the events are added to the calendar itself.

When I go to the widget page I slide the "Event Calendar" into the right top section of side bar, name it, and save it (The top right left is the only section on the right that will even accept a bar from the left). When I return to the widget page from looking at our home page to see if the calendar is there, the event bar is back on the left side. Help!

I have never successfully uploaded anything to our hosting site in a php file. Can you give me some code that I could place within a "text bar" on the widget page?
