Default Where to Put Featured Video

For the featured video on the home page of the tubular theme, it is my understanding that the size is 600 x 340 It seems like some of the video shgaring sites will automatically reduce the size of your video when you upload it to them?

With this featured video is it better to host it yourself on your own server, or on Amazon S3, or are any of you folks aware of one of the video sharing sites that does not reduce the size of your video?

Warmest Regards,

Gordon
