WP 2.7 No image on carousel, festured or custom

I upgraded to WP 2.7 and now, I cannot see images in the background of the Carousel or in the post images. Text looks fine and the arrows advance to the next post, but no images.

Could this be because WP 2.7 assigns numbers to images as opposed to image names? Like this -

Apologies if this has been addressed. I couldn't find the answer
