Whatever happened to revolution 2 themes?

Whatever happened to revolution 2 themes?

I am gathering that the Revolution theme was briefly released to GPL and then retired (to be replaced by the current commercial Studiopress themes)?

Are the original themes still available anywhere on the web?

Just curious.
